What is Spiritual and Pastoral Care?

Spiritual and Pastoral Care means something different for everyone. For some, it’s having a person willing to listen with openness and compassion, for others it’s support to connect fully with family or the community.

Anglicare Southern Queensland supports spiritual and cultural diversity and offers appropriate spiritual care for people from all faith traditions and beliefs. Our person-centred care is not limited to those with a religious or spiritual background. It acknowledges the humanity of all people and the universal need for connection and hope.

“My pastoral care group is something I look forward to each week. Fellowship, being together as a community, prayer and being encouraged to think about others and to be encouraged in my faith are all very important parts of the group for me.
