Anglicare is able to provide transport assistance if you or the person you care for is unable to access or use public transport. Transport can be used to attend medical appointments, go shopping, and participate in social activities or to simply enjoy some time out of the house.
We are funded through the Home and Community Care Program to provide transport services for clients to assist in maintaining their independence and enable them to enjoy life to the fullest.
In addition, we also maintain transport facilities at a number of our residential care facilities to enable our residents to enjoy regular social activities and outings.
Toowoomba Community Transport Service
Anglicare Southern Queensland’s Toowoomba Community Transport Service is based on the Darling Downs and offers services to eligible clients within the local area.
This service aims to meet the social and medical transport needs of people with disabilities, older people with special needs, and people caring for partners, family or friends.
Anglicare Southern Queensland is able to offer clients access to the Toowoomba Community Transport Service through the Queensland Department of Community Services’ Community Care program and the Federal Government’s Department of Health and Ageing’s Home and Community Care (HACC) program.
Volunteers, support workers and Personal Care Workers employed by Anglicare deliver transport services that accommodate both social and medical need.
All transport pick ups are scheduled for the hour or half hour.
