A day in the life of a Home Care Worker
Meet Andrea – Anglicare’s most remote Home Care Worker, calling Longreach home. It’s not uncommon for Andrea to travel more than 300 kilometers in a day, visiting clients on remote properties so they can safely and comfortably remain in their own homes. Andrea’s case is extreme, but Home Care Workers will often find themselves on the road during their work day.
A typical day can include a range of jobs: personal grooming and hygiene, medication reminders, general self-care, assisting clients with shopping and appointments, domestic duties, food preparation and general help around the house. Many clients also love to share a cuppa once the job is done!
