What is directCARE?

directCare is a simple and easy way of pledging an ongoing donation every month to support thousands of at-risk, vulnerable and disadvantaged people who are desperate for our help.

How does directCare work?

Simply choose how much you would like to pledge each month. This can be as little or as much as you like. Each month your pledge is automatically deducted via your credit card or bank account on the 15th. At the end of June you will receive a tax receipt for your cumulative annual contributions.

Why should I consider directCARE?

Monthly giving provides a reliable, low-cost stream of revenue that sustains our ongoing essential services and programs, and allows us to plan for the future. It means less administration fees, which results in more of your donation being directed to where it is needed the most.

What are the benefits of being a directCare member?

directCare is beneficial to you because not only do you get that warm fuzzy feeling of helping someone else, it is very easy to set up, your donation is simply withdrawn from your bank account or credit card each month. It is convenient because you only receive one tax-deductible receipt each year, and it is flexible because you can change your gift amount or cancel at any time.

Tax benefits. directCare like any donation above two dollars is tax deductible, which means the actual cost of the donation is reduced by your tax savings.

For example, if you're in the 35% tax bracket, a gift of $100 will only cost $65 because as your tax bracket increases, the real cost of your charitable gift decreases, making contributions more attractive for those in higher brackets.
Like wise, if you are in the 33% tax bracket, a gift of $100 is only $67 and if in the 15% tax bracket, a $100 contribution is $85.

Where does the money go?

Many Anglicare services and programs are designed and arise in response to community needs, situations and challenges. Your directCare gift each month will help to ensure these vital programs continue, and families and children are given the support and care to live more positive fulfilled lives than otherwise would be possible.

Large or small, your directCare monthly gift will make a real and direct difference, and will help us to:
• reduce the number of homeless people in our own backyard
• prevent or decrease child abuse and neglect, family breakdown and distress
• address youth issues and support young people in crisis
• provide foster care to thousands of vulnerable kids each year
• teach new things to people in need, such as reading and writing
• drive that extra mile to regional and remote locations where the frail and unwell live alone and isolated
• care for the aged and give them the independence they need to live happier and healthier lives
• support people living with chronic illness and mental health conditions
• respond and take action when and where it is needed most.

How do I become a directCARE member?

To create a monthly gift and become a directCare member, you must firstly complete the directCare registration form (coming) or the on-line registration form, available at anglicaresq.org.au.

Before completing the form, it is best to make a decision on how much you can afford and what amount you would like to donate every month. It is also a good idea to check with your Human Resource department, and see whether they have a matching gift program. A matching gift program is where your company will match or equal your donations made throughout the year, This will mean your donation could make twice the difference to people in need.

Once you have completed the directCare form you can mail, email or fax.
