A Place to Belong

A Place to Belong is a small organisation working to build inclusive, connected communities which will welcome, respect and include others, especially those who experience mental health challenges.

We hope to inspire and provide resources for people within the community who wish to offer vital friendship and thread of contact for which others yearn – those who are excluded and are struggling to find their place to belong.

Under the auspices of Anglicare Southern Queensland, A Place to Belong is a network of committed professionals, support workers and recovery facilitators.

Many people volunteer their time, energy and understanding to make positive change in the community.

A Place to Belong runs regular training sessions for community members and groups and an annual Recovery Day that supports those involved in the lives of those with mental health challenges. It also conducts twice-weekly reading, writing and computer groups at West End and Mt. Gravatt. These groups assist those who have not acquired literacy skills and who require assistance with many tasks.
