Laundry Assistant

ABOUT THE POSITION

We are looking for Laundry Assistant volunteers to assist staff to with the
laundry needs of our residents.
Volunteers will assist with the sorting, folding and labelling articles of
clothing depending on the needs of the residents and paid staff members.

Handyman - EM Tooth Residential (Manly)

ABOUT THE POSITION

We are seeking a handyman
volunteer to help our maintenance staff to perform general duties around our
Residential Aged Care Facility. You will
be required to assist with making minor repairs to service equipment (eg wheelchairs)
and surrounds as necessary.

Gardener - EM Tooth Residential (Manly)

ABOUT THE POSITION

We are seeking caring, green
thumbed individuals as Gardener volunteers to help maintain our lovely gardens
and surrounding areas around our Residential Aged Care Facility, for our
residents to enjoy and appreciate.

It is the responsibility of the Gardener
volunteer to prune and weed the garden areas as well as trim hedges (if you are
able), and to report any maintenance issues to their supervisor.

ABOUT THE POSITION

TRACC Brisbane service by networking with community partners (such as churches,
schools, libraries, newspapers) to enhance the profile of the service and also

Driver- Metro South (Killara Place Respite Centre)

Driver volunteers assist with transporting clients to and from Killara Place Respite
Centre. It is essential that these volunteers drive safely, defensively and
within the law while they are transporting clients. Drivers will also be
required to assist the clients into and out of the bus or car in a friendly and
positive manner (including clients using wheel walkers). Volunteer Drivers are required to drive Anglicare
SQ vehicles.

All Drivers must have a clean driving record, good driving skills, a positive
outlook and be an understanding and good communicator. Volunteer drivers need
to be able to communicate with a variety of people, each with differing needs.
Training is provided to ensure that volunteer drivers are able to assist
clients in and out of the vehicle when required.

Social Support (Community Visitor) Metro South


Social Support volunteers visit clients who are
frail aged or young people with a disability that either live in their own home
or in a community residential facility and who suffer from social isolation.
These volunteers provide companionship for the clients and provide them with
the opportunity to have a chat, go for a walk, go shopping, or participate in
any activity the client may enjoy.

Our clients need friendly souls to visit them, if you have a compassionate
personality, a genuine interest in older people, a good listening ear and would
like to provide companionship, we have clients in the Metro South area who would
value the support of a patient and understanding Social Support volunteer.

· Availability – a few hours every week, days and times negotiable

Client Support – Alina Homelessness Services, Toowong

We have a young female client who would value the support of a volunteer, someone to help model daily tasks and life skills, go to gym, or go to dog grooming sessions with, as well as possibly transporting or assisting travel on public transport.

Our client lives with an intellectual disability and needs a gentle guiding hand and someone to be a role model to help pursue her dreams and life goals. Host – St Colomb’s, Clayfield

Dedicated to our staff and the changing needs of the organisation, Anglicare hosts quarterly Leadership Forums for our Managers and Leaders to equip them to better serve their communities in and around the Southern QLD region. To assist us in our mission we're seeking dedicated and committed individuals in the community to help make this happen.

As one of our faithful host volunteers you will come to assist with a willing and can-do attitude. You will help with putting jugs and glasses on tables, making tea/coffee, re-filling at morning tea, serving lunch and clearing away/clean up. To refuel our volunteers there will be morning tea and lunch available for you and generous breaks between service.

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

  • Availability – four (4) days per year, dates to be advised (8:00am – 5:00pm)

Social Support and Volunteer Program Assistant Volunteers - Wide Bay Community (Bundaberg & Hervey Bay)

SOCIAL SUPPORT - Residential

Social Support volunteers visit clients who are in a residential facility and who suffer from social isolation. These volunteers provide companionship for the clients and provide them with the opportunity to have a chat, go for a walk, go shopping, or participate in any activity the client may enjoy.

VOLUNTEER PROGRAM ASSISTANT – Point Vernon

We are seeking Administration Assistant volunteers to assist with the Volunteer candidate processing at our Wide Bay Community branch. You will assist with processing of volunteer paperwork; making appointments for interviews, reference checking, data entry and filing. The successful candidates will be reliable, mature minded, good communicators and have a basic working knowledge of computers. As well as have previous experience in administration and be willing to help Anglicare fulfil the bigger picture of serving the community.

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

  • Availability – any shift during business hours Monday – Friday (minimum 4hrs)
  • Drivers Licence – open, clean record – vehicle provided by ASQ (Social Support applicants only)
  • Consistency and reliability – willing to commit to at least 1 shift (min 4hrs) per week for 6 months.
  • Confidentiality – this is critical to us and you will need to sign a Role Description which includes a confidentiality agreement.
  • Two (2) referees – who are not relatives and can vouch for your character and interaction in the community.
  • Criminal History Check – we organise and pay for this if you don't already have one.

Garden Maintenance, Activities Assistant Volunteers - Meilene Residential Facility, Bundaberg

GARDEN MAINTENANCE

We are seeking caring, green thumbed individuals as Gardener volunteers to help maintain our lovely rose garden and surrounding areas around our Residential Aged Care Facility, for our residents to enjoy and appreciate.

It is the responsibility of the Gardener volunteer to prune and weed the garden areas as well as trim hedges (if you are able), and to report any maintenance issues to their supervisor.

ACTIVITIES ASSISTANT

We are looking for Activities Assistant volunteers to assist staff to deliver recreational activities to clients. Volunteers help set up and pack up the activities, as well as provide encouragement to the clients during the activity (which includes arts and crafts, gardening, bingo, and card games). Activities Assistant volunteers also accompany paid staff and clients on organised outings to provide assistance as directed by the staff person and help clients enjoy the event.

Anglicare SQ's St Martin's Residential Facility is looking for an experienced Organist to volunteer with our dedicated worship team in delivering a joyful and meaningful time of devotion for our wonderful clients. We're seeking a committed, passionate and professional Organist to bring an air of reverence and harmony during the Thursday morning Anglican Church services at the facility.

You will be involved in selecting songs to be played and will work in collaboration with the Reverend to ensure a smooth running of the service. We're looking for someone with a genuine interest in music and people, a warm communication style and friendly manner.

Activities Assistant/ Driver - Gold Coast

Anglicare is looking for volunteers to join our dedicated staff in extending kindness to our wonderful clients in the community based respite programs at Southport with our Gold Coast Community Branch. You will have a genuine interest in people, a warm communication style and friendly manner.

Activities Assistant Volunteers help set up and pack up the activities, as well as provide encouragement to the clients during the activity (which includes arts and crafts, gardening, bingo, and card games). Activities Assistant volunteers also accompany paid staff and clients on organised outings to provide assistance as directed by the staff person and help clients enjoy the event.

Driver volunteers assist with transporting clients to and from our Wellbeing Program. It is essential that these volunteers drive safely, defensively and within the law while they are transporting clients. Drivers will also be required to assist the clients into and out of the bus or car in a friendly and positive manner. Volunteer Drivers are required to drive ASQ vehicles.

All Drivers must have a clean driving record, good driving skills, a positive outlook and be an understanding and good communicator. Volunteer drivers need to be able to communicate with a variety of people, each with differing needs. Training is provided to ensure that volunteer drivers are able to assist clients in and out of the vehicle when required.
