Research at Anglicare Southern Queensland

Sites across North and SE Qld

If you are undertaking a research project as part of your education (completing a Masters degree or Doctorate) and would like to involve the staff, clients, residents from any of Anglicare Southern Queensland’s facilities or sites across south-east Queensland you will need to apply for permission to proceed.

The process contains several steps and must be followed in sequential order for consideration to be made.


Step one

Application for consideration

Your initial submission should be directed to:

You will need to apply in writing (either via email or post) to the Anglicare Southern Queensland Research Committee (ASQRC) for consideration.

In your correspondence to the ASQRC you will explain in detail the perceived benefit that you believe your research project will offer either the organisation or its staff.

 


Step two

Approval process

Following receipt of your submission the Committee will review the salient points raised in your proposal in order to determine whether the project should proceed.

You will be formally notified of the outcome in writing.

Obtaining ethical consent

Should the Committee be receptive to your proposal you will then be asked to submit details of your project to the Anglicare Southern Queensland Human Research Ethics Committee (HREC) for assessment from an ethical perspective.

As part of your submission you will need to have completed a National Ethics Application Form (NEAF) outlining your proposal.  The form is available for download via the following URL:

You will also need to include any other ethics approvals you have received for your project and examples of  relevant data collection methods (such as forms) that you intend using with our clients, residents and staff to enable this material to be reviewed by the HREC.

Applicants should note that HREC meet monthly and that submissions need to arrive at least two weeks prior to the date of the meeting in order to be considered.
